We absolutely love checking out photos and footage which give glorious insight into life in Malta in any past era. And this video shows just that, in the 1950s!

Local Antoinette Bonello posted this incredible footage reel of family photos to Facebook, featuring memories dating back to 1959, and they’re absolutely incredible.

Some photos feature the family gathered in a café or bar celebrating God-knows what, because as per Maltese tradition, we’re always celebrating something!

The throwback black-and-white shots give off a certain air of simplicity that could be felt back in the '50s. And let’s not forget the incredible fashion back in the day!
