Ready for the binge fest?

Temperatures are heading down this weekend, and there’s nothing quite like a good series to keep you glued to the TV until further notice. With new shows planned for later on in 2019 and others that will continue to hit our favourite providers throughout the year, there’s so much to look forward to.

1. New Amsterdam

NBC’s medical drama New Amsterdam is as promising as Dr Eric Manheimer’s novel, Twelve Patients: Life and Death at Bellevue Hospital. Set in a colossal hospital in New York City, this medical institution needs to sort out its priorities and start focusing on its patients rather than keep the celebrity status the hospital holds as its pillar of success.

2. 9-1-1

You’ve got to love yourself some Angela Basset! Her cop character takes on an intense role where paramedics, firefighters and the city’s brave work towards protecting the vulnerable. The heart-stopping situations that come about during the series are moulded together with the personal dilemmas every good action-thriller promotes.

4. Station 19

Station 19 is an ABC production that features Shonda Rhimes as one of the executive producers, so you know you’re in for a treat when her name appears on the credits! The Seattle Fire Station 19 is all about the effort of the local heroes in their journey towards protecting the people of Seattle. Get sucked in to the life of series stars Jaina Lee Ortiz and Jason George to name but a few.

5. Sick Note

A great Netflix production that packs enough humour and ridicule to keep you entertained for hours. Rupert Grint takes the lead role with Nick Frost close by, the latter acts as Harry Potter star’s doctor who accidentally diagnoses him with cancer. Oh, and Maltese actress Marama Corlette is also quite the big shot in Sick Note.

6. Dynasty

A spin off on the old Dynasty, Fallen Harrington will dominate your evenings with her snarky comments and conniving plans that often result in a few head-turners. As characters come and go, this weekly series is ready to shock, and have you clapping your hands for some serious girl power.

7. The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina

Sabrina the Teenage Witch gone modern! This spooky TV show is all about the enchanting life of a teen witch with a bunch of obscure adventures to keep her on her toes. Her aunts, friends and ghoulish acquaintances are only some of the interactions Ms Spellman makes throughout the series.

8. Big Mouth

This may be a cartoon, but man is it inappropriate for kids! Big Mouth is all about the pubescent life of a teenage kid who, although quite intuitive, may not be on the direct flight to maturity. His embarrassing adventures and downright-wrong thoughts are addictively hilarious. Don’t watch this with the kids… or your parents.

Foodies, get your notepads ready - Final Table is all about super-intense food knowledge that you’ll flip over! From celebrity chefs to peculiar ingredients, this Netflix Original is all about pleasing the senses from one country to another, in hope of becoming the next top chef!
