If you’re heading to Gozo this summer, you’d definitely want to spend some time soaking up that gorgeous summer sun on one of its most beautiful beaches. Beach hop this summer at these eight fabulous bays.

1. Wied il-Ghasri

This gorgeous cliff-bound inlet in Zebbug is the perfect spot for a quiet swim in mid-summer. Wied il-Ghasri offers picturesque views that will definitely spice up your Instagram!

2. Ramla Bay

Overlooked by Calypso Cave, Ramla Bay, or Ramla l-Hamra in Maltese, is known for its stunning red-golden sand which attracts tourists from around the globe each year. Arguably one of Gozo’s best beaches, Ramla Bay is a wonderful place to swim, snorkel and just chill out in the sun.

3. Dwejra

As sad as we were to see the Azure Window go, that doesn’t stop us from visiting the fantastic area. Take a trip down to the pebbled beach - the perfect spot for a quick dip, right in front of the legendary caves.

4. Ghajn Barrani

Ghajn Barrani in Xaghra is characterised by flat terrain and clay slopes leading to the blue shores. The Natura 2000-protected site is a peaceful spot for you to enjoy an evening swim during the hot summer months.

5. San Blas

San Blas is a small and pretty beach of red sand, accessible from Nadur via a long (and super steep) hill. The bay is a quiet and relaxing spot where you can enjoy soaking up the sun, reading a book you’ve been meaning to or splashing around in the cool waters.

6. Mgarr ix-Xini

An alleged hiding place for the Knights’ galleys during the Turkish invasion, Mgarr ix-Xini Bay is another Gozitan inlet that boasts fantastic views of the Med. The Knights’ watchtower still stands guard over the bay that attracts many tourists and locals alike each year.

7. Xlendi Bay

A popular beach is Xlendi Bay. Apart from the fabulous ice-cream choices in the area, you can also enjoy a quick swim from the shore or dive off the board (if you dare!) which can be found further along the inlet.

8. Marsalforn

Marsalforn is a mix of sand, pebbles and rock, backed by a promenade running around the length of the bay. Spending a few hours at one of the many restos along the shore and then jumping in the sea to freshen up is a fab day if you ask me!
