Winter prep! Malta’s beaches undergo clean-up as preparations begin for next summer
With the end of the summer season, the Tourism Zones Regeneration Agency has kicked off its yearly programme to prepare Malta’s beaches for the winter months.
The initiative forms part of the agency’s ongoing commitment to keeping the island’s coastal zones in top condition and ensuring they are ready to host visitors once the warmer months return.
The agency, which plays a central role in strengthening tourism-related infrastructure, explained that all beach equipment is currently being removed ahead of a series of planned maintenance works. These repairs and upgrades are intended to ensure that all facilities are restored and improved where necessary before the start of the next summer season.
As part of the process, the sand at Buġibba’s Perched Beach is being gathered and securely covered to protect it from winter weather conditions. This careful handling helps preserve the quality of the beach and reduces the need for extensive restoration in the spring.
The ongoing works are being coordinated closely with the Malta Tourism Authority to ensure that all procedures meet national quality standards.
Together, both entities aim to ensure that Malta’s beaches remain safe, tidy, and enjoyable throughout the year for both residents and tourists.
Are you looking forward to winter?
