7 stages of finding out Gossip Girl is hitting our screens once again (this is not a drill!)
Have you heard the news? After a long break, renowned TV show Gossip Girl will be hitting our screens once again! A 10-episode spinoff season following a new group of Manhattan’s elite rich kids is on its way, thanks to HBO Max. The series picks up eight years after we said goodbye to the original Gossip Girl cast, and while there’s no confirmed date yet, we’re still pretty excited!
Here are the seven stages of finding out we’ll be heading back into the world of the Upper East Side.
1. This is a hoax
Over the eight years we’ve been without Gossip Girl, rumours of a reboot have always been around, so we’re not holding our breath at this point.
2. More news pops up
Can it be? Is it really true? You start fishing around for more deets…
3. You message your GG crew
Your GG crew quickly comes back together to FREAK THE HECK OUT over this news.
4. Your brain is buzzing
Your mind is in overdrive with questions about the plot, characters and release date. Is it soon? Will that hunk Chace Crawford be back? The stalking begins…
5. Detective mode: ON!
You start gathering all the golden nuggets you can about the reboot. But so far, all that people have reported is the fact that it will follow a new group of rich kids and will address just how much social media, and New York itself, has changed over the past eight years. Interesting.
6. Bummed
There’s no word yet on whether the original cast including Blake Lively, Penn Badgley, Chace Crawford, Leighton Meester and Ed Westwick will be back, but we are crossing every body part possible in the hopes that they will.
7. It’s that time again!
In light of the news, it’s the perfect excuse to bring out the episode sets and binge all six seasons, because that’s the only way we’re going to cope until the release date is announced.
