This year, you'd best find yourself your favourite seat at your favourite cinema and get your regular bar order up to standard - you’re going to be spending a lot of time at the box office! The anticipation is real - really real… so if you’re ready for it, here are the top releases for 2019!
Toy Story 4
June 2019 - clear the month just in case. Don’t make ANY plans - just camp outside the cinema theatre and wait for the Pixar gods to grace the big screen. Buzz Lightyear, Sheriff Woody, and the rest of the crew are back - this is way too exciting!
Captain Marvel
Marvel lovers; you’ve got to be on the edge of your seat for this one. We lost a legend this year - Stan Lee, the creator of all things Marvel, who graced us with so many superheroes, both in the comics and on the big screen. He should appear in a cameo for Captain Marvel too though, so keep your eyes peeled.
Aladdin
What would you give to have one Magic Carpet ride? A leg? A kidney? No judgement - I’m all in. Aladdin is a childhood wonder, he’s kind, he’s funny, he’s very, very naughty, but we love him. And best news yet - he’s back in 2019 with a full-length movie!
Dumbo
When I was a child I wasn’t allowed to watch the part where Dumbo’s mum is taken away - I hope my mum will let me watch the remake without interruptions, as this movie is set to be an aesthetic wonder! Flying elephants running away from the circus - yes please!
Frozen 2
As Anna and Elsa return for their second Hollywood outing, little kids (and some other, less mature adults) should definitely re-watch Frozen’s first release to get into the ‘Let it Go’ spirit once more!
Star Wars Episode IX
Yes! Another Star Wars episode to add to the list. Although the last two releases were nothing to write home about, the fans will still flock to the movie theatre to watch this. Oh, we’re excited, don’t get me wrong - we know it won’t be up to George Lucas’ standards though.
The Lion King
Simba, Nala, Zazu, the old warthog and the pesky meerkat make their return! And what a return it’s planned to be with the Queen Beyoncé as Nala, Childish Gambino as Simba and the hilarious Seth Rogen as Pumba the warthog… man, this is going to be good.
Disney, Pixar, Star Wars, Marvel and Beyoncé- ahh, can’t even wait!
