If you flew in or out of Malta with Ryanair last year, you officially helped make 2025 the airline’s busiest year ever on the island.
Ryanair has announced that 2025 marked a record-breaking year for its Maltese operations, thanks to an expanded schedule and the addition of a ninth aircraft based in Malta for the winter season. As a result, passenger traffic climbed to 5.2 million travellers, a 15% increase compared to 2024.
The airline says the growth has meant more routes, more choice and continued low fares for both locals and visitors travelling to and from Malta.
Looking ahead, Ryanair has confirmed that it plans to keep growing in Malta in 2026, with its Summer 2026 schedule set to be announced in the coming weeks.
Ryanair’s Director of Communications, Jade Kirwan, said the airline is proud of its continued investment in Malta, highlighting the addition of the ninth aircraft as a key factor behind the record year and increased passenger numbers.
