As severe weather continues to batter the islands, Floriana’s deputy mayor has shared heartbreaking images showing the extent of the damage caused by the storm in the locality.

Unfortunately, Storm Harry has left a trail of destruction across several localities including Floriana, with trees uprooted and monuments damaged. Authorities are currently monitoring the situation and taking note of all reported damage, with restoration and maintenance works set to resume once weather conditions improve.

One of the most significant incidents occurred at the Floriana Mall Gardens, where a fallen tree crashed onto the monument of Vincenzo Bugeja, causing visible damage. The relevant authorities have since been informed and are expected to take action once it is safe to do so.

The deputy mayor stressed that these images serve as a stark reminder of the real danger posed by the storm, urging residents to remain indoors where possible until conditions settle.

‘This will pass soon,’ his message ended on a reassuring note, as the locality – like the rest of Malta – weathers the storm.

Remember to steer clear of any areas with trees till the wind subsides!
