Wow! Valletta Palazzo owned by Maltese interior designer Francis Sultana featured on Elle Decoration
The palazzo dates back to the times of the Knights of St John.
In a recently published article by Fiona McCarthy, the Valletta Palazzo and home of the interior designer Francis Sultana was featured on the prestigious Elle Decoration.
Francis bought the palazzo in 2006 and it took him 15 years to transform this beautiful home.
The palazzo is five stories high and was built for a Knight of St John, Francesco de Torres. Francis described the building to Elle as “a baroque masterpiece” but it had not been lived in for many decades, not since War World II to be exact.
In the article he continued to reveal that he worked with “local craftspeople to save or recreate heritage-listed elements like carvings and beams” while still giving it that modern sensibility and personal style.
The palazzo has an immaculate terrace overlooking the beauty of Valletta and even has a traditional internal courtyard that keeps on adding that extra charm to the place.
But what perhaps stands out the most is the massive Maltese crosses and towers fixed onto the blue painted dining room.
Looking at pictures of the inside of the Palazzo it comes as no surprise that Francis Sultana and his impeccable work were featured on this prestigious platform.
