Is it wine time already? Well, when isn't it? Luckily for us, our islands boasts a grand selection of wine bars in which to chill, sip and eat. Here are eight of the best wine bars on the island for you to try out!

1. Fernando Gastrotheque

With an impressive wine list of over 600 wines, you’ll be spoilt for choice at Fernando Gastrotheque in Sliema. This local spot even organises personalised wine tasting sessions for those avid wine lovers! You can choose from a selection of artisanal charcuterie and cheese that are the bomb! And, even though Fernando ticks all the wine bar boxes, it also doubles up as a restaurant with an interesting menu for you to indulge in. It's a one-of-a-kind experience!

2. Levels Wine Bar

Levels Wine Bar in Siggiewi has a superb selection of over 100 wines from the best winemakers around the world. While the wine is fantastic, Levels is renowned for their platters that are absolutely to die for! A selection of cheeses and cold cuts are served including Maltese, Chinese and Indian platters. A true gem! The warm and cosy atmosphere makes it a perfect place to unwind.

3. HUB22

Located in a historic 400-year-old property, HUB22 is a great spot to hang out with friends after a long day at work, sipping on a glass of red and nibbling away at a fantastic platter. HUB22 also serves bar bites and allows you to build your own platter! #Drool

4. Del Borgo

Located in the heart of Birgu, Del Borgo is the perfect place to get away from it all and wind down at the weekend. Their platters, including Maltese and Greek selections, fritto misto, cheese board and cured meats will definitely get your taste buds tingling!

5. Cheese & Cuts

Located in Mosta just a 10-minute walk away from the Rotunda, Cheese & Cuts specialises in the finest artisanal cheeses from small farmhouses in Italy, Spain and France. Beside the mouth-watering cheese platters, the chef prepares Italian food dishes to share, paired with fine wines that are sure to satisfy your cravings!

6. one80 Kitchen & Lounge

Situated on the way down to Mellieha Bay, one80 Kitchen & Lounge Mellieha boasts stunning views of lush greenery, sandy beaches and the deep blue from an excellent vantage point in Mellieha, all waiting for you to enjoy while sipping on a glass of wine (or two!). This spot is great destination for lunch or a complete night out. They even have BYOWednesdays, whereby you can bring along and uncork your own favourite wine at no extra charge from noon onwards! #YAS

8. Loop Bistro Bar

Situated in Valletta’s notorious Strait Street, Loop Bar is here to serve, and has been doing so since post-war days. With original décor and a great atmosphere, Loop Bistro Bar offers various platters with an extensive Maltese wine list, including the award-winning Primus.
