The Malta U-19 water polo national team concluded their Euro Championship qualifiers on a high note, securing a flawless record as they triumphed over Bulgaria.

Under the guidance of coach Niki Lanzon, the young Maltese talents exhibited their skill in the pool, confirming their passage to the continental finals in a grand fashion.

Sunday's encounter against Bulgaria was merely a formality for Malta, already assured of their qualification following impressive victories over Slovakia and Poland.

Alec Fenech continued to shine as Malta's top scorer, showcasing his skill with five goals in the match.

From the outset, Malta displayed their determination to maintain their perfect record. They swiftly asserted their dominance, storming to a 3-0 lead with goals from Jake Cachia, Max Zammit, and Alec Fenech. While the second session saw a more balanced exchange of goals, Malta managed to maintain their advantage.

In the final session, Malta unleashed a flurry of goals, sealing their victory with five more strikes, including two from Alec Fenech, securing a resounding 16-10 win over Bulgaria.

The stellar performance of the whole team signals promising prospects for Malta as they gear up for the upcoming continental finals.
