Doggos of Ħaż-Żebbuġ have a new place to play and run around, as a new dog park was opened in the area known as Għarram.
The new dog park, built by Project Green in collaboration with the Ħaż-Żebbuġ local council, is located between Triq Luret Cutajar u Vincenzo Andriolo, and an old road and roundabout have been removed to create this new space.
Ġnien Għarram is split into two zones – an area where people can relax in peace and a zone for dogs to play with their owners and other dogs. It includes dog park equipment, a water fountain for dogs, a pergola and benches.

Several indigenous plants, adapted to pets, were planted in this new garden - including 12 olive, pine and carob trees and rosemary, thyme, sage, and jasmine shrubs.
Watering will take place through a 200 cubic metre reservoir which has been incorporated into the park and is connected to a system that collects rainwater from nearby roads.
Project Manager Dylan Abela Spiteri remarked that this system means the garden makes use of blue‑green infrastructure, where natural and technical solutions are combined to create a sustainable urban space that utilises resources efficiently.
Ħaż-Żebbuġ Mayor Steve Zammit Lupi also welcomed the launch of the park.
