Sarah and her son, Jacob, were inspired to launch Jacob’s Brew Café after the latter survived intensive brain surgery in February 2013.
The team behind Marsascala’s charitable ‘Jacob’s Brew Café’ has just launched yet another altruistic initiative – ‘Jacob’s Pay It Forward Coffee Van’.
Apart from retaining a pay-it-forward concept, wherein customers can choose to offer a free coffee to individuals in need, this coffee van will also be delivering free hot drinks and sandwiches to families in need of support.
The project is supported by customers who purchase items from the van as well as GasanMamo Insurance, which partnered with Jacob’s Brew to provide the necessary support the team needed to bring this dream to fruition.
“Always believe in yourself and others will believe in you,” Sarah Cachia, one of the driving forces behind the initiative wrote on social media.
“Hard work pays off. Add a huge amount of determination and a heap load of personal sacrifice to the mix and everything is possible. Thank you to all those who played a part in making this dream become a reality,” she continued.
Sarah and her son, Jacob, were inspired to launch Jacob’s Brew Café after the latter survived intensive brain surgery in February 2013.
Following this ordeal, the Cachia family has made it its ultimate aim to warm the hearts of families undergoing similar situations
Through its Marsascala café, the Cachia family funds its very own NGO – Survivors Malta – which is behind a series of projects looking to help families facing trauma.
The NGO’s projects include ‘Jacob’s Coffee Run’, which delivers free sandwiches and coffees to families in the ITU waiting area at Mater Dei Hospital, and the ‘Reunited Pet Cabin’, a designated room built on the grounds of Mater Dei Hospital where pet visitation and pet therapy are made possible.
