Such a gem!

Mellieha is such a gorgeous town, but many just pass through to either hit the beach in summer or head up to Cirkewwa to catch the ferry to Gozo. “There is a natural cave lying low in the valley where there are steps to go down to it, dedicated to Our Lady. It has been a special place for many centuries,” writes YouTuber Englishman in Malta in the description of the video. “Up till today it is still lit by the many votive candle light offerings in an act of Christian prayer,” he notes.

The YouTuber remarks that the little cave is “full of relics brought over by people who suffered an illness and were healed.” The cave is dimly lit, giving off a serene vibe, and also features a statue of Our Lady within which has a spring of running water beneath it.

The grotto is part of the above Sanctuary also dedicated to Our Lady. Visitors can access the grotto through a gate just opposite the church that will lead you down a number of steps to the gorgeous grotto.
