Holy smokes! A local guy managed to get somewhere where possibly no other Malteser has managed to get to – the Ellen show! Ryan Calleja was featured on Ellen where he represented Malta in what Ellen called her Audience Olympics.

The show Ryan was on happened to include the most diverse audience it has ever seen. Ryan was chosen alongside another two women, one from Malawi and one from Belgium to compete in Ellen’s Olympics: the bottle flip challenge.

It seems Ryan needed some more practice because he came in third place. The winner had to sing the first two lines of her national anthem – which she forgot! Instead, she sung a few lines of the American national anthem.

“I remember the teenage years when I used to carry Ellen's book outside and re-reading it after I finish it,” Ryan said on Facebook, sharing the video clip. “Ellen is inspirational and just by watching her she fuels my positive attitude.”

We’re 100 per cent sure that had Ryan took home the gold, he would have proudly sung the Maltese national anthem. Great job, just the same, Ryan!
