The Maltese community in Australia works tirelessly to preserve its Maltese roots and this morning a group of Maltese-Australians proudly showcased their heritage at Melbourne’s largest free community festival.

Participating in Moomba’s annual parade, the group walked a 4km stretch in costume, with the women dressed in traditional outfits and the men as Knights.

The parade saw representatives from a plethora of international countries participating in the massive annual event, with many groups bringing their own floats to the parade. Malta’s float took the form of a traditional luzzu with the addition of wheels to facilitate its transport down Melbourne’s streets.
