WATCH: Local YouTuber’s reaction to Benna’s new flavour is the best thing on the internet
If y’all haven’t noticed, Benna released a new limited-edition milkshake flavour – the vanilla biscuit. #Goals. If you haven’t tried it yet, you’re going to want to check out local YouTuber and make-up artist Heri’s review of it, because honestly, it’s the best thing on the internet right now.
In true Maltese fashion, Heri starts off the three-and-a half minute video with “x’textix” – a phrase we use when we’re excited about something. “This is something that you guys don’t really know about me, but I am obsessed with chocolate milk – I literally drink it as if it were water,” he says, proceeding to mention the other milkshake flavours that Benna has produced, namely chocolate, strawberry, banana and coconut.
“The carton is a little deceiving, and when I say a little, I mean it is really deceiving. Why is there the colour pink when the flavour is vanilla? Sorry, ta. This was a marketing strategy to make us go crazy,” he says. “100 per cent, fresh, Maltese milk, ghax il-halib ta’ Malta wisq tajjeb u bnin.”
A great and totally genuine reaction that cracked us up was to the expiry date. “This expires on Sunday – illalla kemm ghandu sa Sunday, Madonna.” You’ve got to see his facial expression. #Ded.
Heri comments that the smell isn’t overwhelming, when compared to the chocolate one. After taking multiple sips, he’s got a verdict! “Viva Maltese cows! Viva Benna!” he exclaims. “The new milkshake is great,” he says, proceeding to kill us with the next comment. “Litteralment l-ahwa qed inhoss iz-zejza tal-baqra go halqi, UMBAD tefghuli naqra zghira vanilla, qabbdu gallettini tal-LIDL u tefghuha f’halqi, qaluli ‘ghaffeg kollox go halqek u ghomod.' E-ZATT!”
Translation: it’s as if he could taste the cow’s udder in his mouth, added with a splash of vanilla by Benna and a LIDL biscuit, all mashed up and chewed. Quite the vivid explanation! The only criticism he’s got is that it is a limited edition! “It’s good. It’s really good.”
