First Delta Airlines flight from New York lands in Malta!

Delta Airlines’ long-awaited inaugural flight to Malta landed on the island this morning.

This marks the first flight connection between Malta and the United States since 2000, when ATA Airlines had chartered a direct link to New York.

The new route operates between the Malta International Airport and the JFK International Airport three times a week this summer, arriving in Malta on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays and departing to New York that same day.

Maltese authorities are expected to closely monitor the performance of this route to assess whether more long-haul flights could be in the offering.
