WATCH: Local photographers launch a cool project to inspire you to chase your dreams
Find your own superpower.
Recently I’ve been seeing teasers for this new Facebook page and I was instantly intrigued. Local (and renowned) photographer Albert Camilleri and, photographer and videographer, Jean Claude Vella started a new project which aims to inspire people to pursue their dreams. Cool, right?

Speaking to one half of the duo, Albert, I found out all the deets about the project and what’s in store. “The idea behind the project is to primarily inspire people to do what they love doing (and are great at) full time – moving away from sticking to a nine to five job, especially if you’re talented or have a passion for something. I think people should really work hard to make that their career,” he says.

So, where did the idea come from?
Albert notes that his friends are always expressing how unhappy they are in their jobs and that they’re still uncomfortable even after graduating and working in an industry for a few years. “I was the same – not knowing really what I wanted to do, until I left everything: my studies, my job and stuck to doing what I really loved doing.” This happened to be photography and creative work for Albert. “Even though I was just starting out, and there were plenty of people doing it already, I stuck with it.”

And his first creative idea was to shoot a video trying to answer the age-old question, “What do you want to be when you grow up?” something we’ve all been asked or have asked. “Rather than just showcasing my work, I now want to share stories and experiences to hopefully help inspire people to do what they love doing. This is my first ever video which kicks off this new online journey,” he wrote in his original post.
The video was filmed by Albert himself and his partner in crime for this project, Jean Claude Vella, who will also be part of the bigger online journey. Jean Claude is more of a behind-the-scenes kinda guy, so he'll be taking care of socials, shooting, and all the non-on-screen stuff. And he's doing a fab job at it!

Albert’s dream
Albert’s dream is to inspire people, not just locally but internationally. “Not everyone can be a freelancer or setup his/her own company but we all have to work hard to find our superpower and do something we are passionate about. Only then can we really be happy with our jobs.” The goal, Albert says, is to be as international as possible so that different people can be inspired (and that is also why he opted to use English in his video). “The story is very much a universal one.”

What’s in store?
“We're already working on the second video and there are plenty of cool ideas in the pipeline,” he says. And after this cool video, we’d expect nothing less! “It won’t be just YouTube videos,” he teases. “Followers can expect plenty of humour, photography, behind the scenes and collaborations with artists and other talented people.”
