This was her first-ever international collective show

Last month, Sasha Vella found out that she had been selected, alongside fellow artist Mario Abela, to have her work displayed at Venice’s CreaOpen exhibition. Fast forward a few weeks and she’s landed the artist residency prize! Her submission, titled ‘The Illusion of Solitude’, is a beautiful photograph featuring the intersection of clouds and mountains that Sasha took on her last solo trip, which is now available for viewing in Giudecca, Venice.

In a social media post sharing the exciting news, Sasha wrote: ‘I am over the moon to have won the artist residency prize at CRAG gallery in Turin for my participation in the CreaOpen exhibition – my first-ever international collective show, in the magical city of Venice.’

She went on to thank those who supported her throughout her creative journey – and we can't wait to see where her art takes her next!

Well done, Sasha!
