Tower trouble! ‘Massive damage’ spotted at Għajn Tuffieħa Tower in shocking drone photos
This follows months after the area was sealed off due to the risk of collapse

The Get Out and Kayak group has shared some concerning images of Għajn Tuffieħa Tower, a landmark that overlooks one of Malta’s most beloved beaches. The photos reveal a significant gaping hole in the upper part of the tower, highlighting the urgent need for attention.

Earlier this year, the public was cautioned to stay away from the tower, with authorities cordoning off the area after discovering that the foundations supporting the structure were at risk of collapse.

Now, the group is raising the alarm once again, as they believe the ‘massive damage’ they observed could lead to further sections of the tower crumbling, especially if severe weather conditions hit, given its vulnerable position exposed to the elements.

They’ve reached out to both the public and authorities, asking if there are any updates on the tower’s restoration plans and urging everyone to 'work together to ensure that this treasure isn’t lost forever'.

Have you noticed the damage to the tower?
