Caution advised! Area around Ghajn Tuffieha Tower closed due to danger of collapse
Pass on the word to anyone who likes to visit this place at sunset!

Francesca Vella

Ghajn Tuffieha Tower, a beloved spot overlooking Malta’s west coast and renowned as one of the best sunset-viewing locations on the islands, has been closed to the public due to serious safety concerns. Both the tower and the surrounding areas are now off-limits, leaving visitors and locals to seek alternative locations for their meditative sunset moments.

The Malta Police Force has warned that the structure and nearby terrain are at risk of collapse, posing a significant danger to anyone entering the area. Authorities are urging the public to respect the barriers and signage in place to ensure their safety.

This closure serves as quite a sobering reminder of the natural forces that shape our coastline - bringing back memories of the Azure Window’s collapse in Gozo in 2017 - and a good nudge to cherish these iconic landmarks while they’re still with us!

Had you ever watched the sunset from the popular tower?
