To the polls! Here’s what voting ballots looked like back in the 1800s

With Malta’s highly anticipated general election coming up this weekend, some can’t help but be reminded of what these events looked like decades ago...  

 Steven Dalli took to Facebook to share some treasures from the past.   

Steven dug up some of his favourite artifacts from his collection of old voting ballots one of which dates back to the 1800s and includes text in English and Italian.   

 It was only in the 1900s that these official documents were translated into Maltese.   

Although these aren’t all from general elections, it’s pretty awesome to look back and see how much has changed over the years.
