What an incredible throwback! Facebook page Strada Stretta's recent vintage photo whisks us away to a simpler time, capturing the essence of daily life near the ‘fosos’ in front of Castille in Valletta.

The image features men and children sporting light berets, evoking a sense of nostalgia for a bygone era. The gathering of eager children, patiently awaiting the men's preparations, unfolds a scene familiar to those who once witnessed the communal choreography of sweeping up scattered grain with brooms and shovels.

This charming snapshot harks back to a time when every aspect of life was intertwined with tradition and community.

The collected grain, a product of this collective effort, held a unique purpose – to feed chickens and pigeons, often raised by families on their rooftops.

Do you remember scenes like this in Valletta?
