Time for an adventure! Local vlogger explores the elusive Saint Paul the Hermit Chapel in Mosta
Pierre Farrugia took the adventurous route rather than the conventional one via stairs near the Mosta bridge.

Local adventurer and vlogger Pierre Farrugia recently embarked on a thrilling journey to Wied Il Ghasel in Mosta, with a specific goal in mind: the elusive Saint Paul the Hermit Chapel.

While many tend to choose the conventional route via stairs near the Mosta bridge, Pierre opted for a more adventurous path, descending through a route commonly used for rock climbing or Via Ferrata.

Navigating the descent proved neither easy nor overly challenging, yet the breathtaking vistas along the way more than compensated for any physical exertion.

As the local adventurer reached the valley floor, a short trek to the left led him to the foot of the chapel, situated within a cave steeped in legend.

According to local lore, the chapel's origins trace back to the saintly figure of Korradu, who once inhabited the cave. Legend has it that after rebuking shepherds for their immoral behaviour, Korradu miraculously escaped their wrath, crossing the sea to Gozo on his mantle. In repentance, the shepherds erected a church in the cave dedicated to St. Paul the Hermit.

Pierre's journey, just like the many treks and adventures that he has done before, showcases Malta's rich historical and religious heritage.

As Pierre retraces the footsteps of ancient legends, he invites locals and tourists to delve deeper into the mysteries of the Maltese landscape, where every cave and chapel holds a story waiting to be told.

Have you ever visited the cave of St. Paul the Hermit?
