Do you remember the Europa Bar? The popular bar was situated in Valletta and was a favourite among locals for its exceptional food.
In a post shared to a popular nostalgia group, many memories were recalled by locals who went there frequently back in the day, remembering that it was quite the popular spot packed with locals, particularly workers on break.
“We members of the night staff at Union Press used to go for a timpana during the break at 8/8.30pm. Delicious!” said one person. The bar was situated “in front of Pace,” the uniforms store and just a few doors down from Cordina’s side door.

“I remember going for their take away timpana in the late ‘60s. Even though my mum prepared lunch for me, I loved eating it from time to time,” said one local. Another Facebook user recalls the timpana having an egg in the middle, which he described as “bomba.” Who wouldn’t?
