Mellieha Local Councillor Ivan Castillo is calling out authorities for the horrendous state a particular road in the locality finds itself in. He shares it has been this way for quite some time, and residents definitely deserve better than this.

“The year is 2020! And you would not believe the state that some residents of Mellieha still live,” Mellieha Local Councillor Ivan Castillo starts off. “Triq id-Denci Ghadira, still waiting for the road levels to be established so that they may have a proper drainage connection!! Drainage is overflowing in the street which is a huge health hazard for the residents living there! But WSC can not do anything before they have the road levels and building lines.”

“What are we waiting for!!” he exclaims. “There is a wall of sand and clay which over looms over the road which is just waiting for a heavy rainfall to completely capsized!! This is dangerous!!!”

Castillo shared he visited the area and met up with residents who shared “they have been waiting years for a solution, even a temporary one.”
I visited the area and met with residents who informed me they have been waiting years for a solution even a temporary one!!! Still nothing from Transport Malta or Planning Authority!! What exactly are you waiting for? Get your act together and give the residents what they deserve!”

Locals thanked the councillor for his and the rest of the council’s hard work, saying that hopefully a solution can be given soon.
