We think its safe to say that for many, local bars have become part and parcel of Maltese heritage, with many of them considered to be iconic, full of memories, and oozing cultural charm. One of these hot spots is Hal Balzan’s very own Three Villages Bar, or tal-Qaghdi, as it has often been called.
After an image of the bar’s façade was posted on Kappa Vision’s Facebook page, many locals shared memories of their frequent visits to this beloved spot.
In fact, various Facebook users recall how they would often pass by the bar on their way to school, stop to buy sweets and ice-creams, and even have a chat with one of the sisters who ran the shop.
What stood out the most among locals partaking in this discussion, however, is the uncertainty of the bar’s exact address. Yes, you heard us right! It seems that the bar is located at a crossroad between the three villages of Hal Lija, Hal Balzan, and H’Attard, leading to confusion regarding its precise location…
One of the locals suggests that the bar lies on the border between the villages of Hal Balzan and Hal Lija, with the now town of H’Attard at its side, just around the corner. In fact, she notes that this is why the shop is named the Three Villages Bar! We think it’s the perfect name for such an ambiguous location… Don’t you think?
Have you ever paid a visit to this iconic bar?
