Let there be heat!

The final week of May is set to bring the hottest temperatures of the year so far, with highs across the Maltese Islands expected to hit the 30°C mark for the first time in 2026.

According to an update shared by Maltese Islands Weather, the islands are heading into a noticeably warmer spell, with nights also reaching temperatures of around 20°C.

The forecast shows a mostly stable and sunny week ahead, with only a few partly cloudy days expected at the beginning and end of the week. Temperatures are set to gradually climb day by day, starting with highs of 27°C and 28°C earlier in the week before peaking at 30°C by Friday.

The weather forecast image shared by the same Facebook page highlights calm and pleasant conditions across the islands, with smooth to slight sea conditions and very low rainfall chances throughout the week. In fact, rain amounts are expected to remain at 0mm for all six days shown in the forecast.

Winds are also expected to stay relatively light to moderate, creating ideal conditions for beach outings, swimming, and outdoor activities as Malta edges closer to summer mode.

Another major detail from the forecast is the UV index, which is expected to remain very high throughout the week, reaching levels of 10 on multiple days.

After a spring filled with mixed weather patterns, this upcoming week is shaping up to feel far more like a traditional Maltese summer. With warmer seas, longer sunny days, and temperatures continuing to rise, the final days of May are expected to give the islands their first real taste of summer 2025.

Are you looking forward to hot summer days?
