Celebrating sustainable businesses! Malta GreenBiz Awards 2026 applications are open
The 2026 edition features six new distinct award categories, each designed to recognise diverse contributions to Malta's sustainable future
Building on the success of two previous editions, the Malta GreenBiz Awards is back to recognise and honour businesses demonstrating genuine commitment to sustainability and circular economy principles.
Micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises frequently operate outside the spotlight afforded to larger corporations. From a marketing perspective, these businesses cannot command the same visibility as major enterprises, and their sustainability innovations often go unrecognised. The Malta GreenBiz Awards exists to change this narrative.

By elevating these overlooked businesses into the forefront, the Malta GreenBiz Awards demonstrates that meaningful innovation in sustainability is not the exclusive domain of large corporations - it is achievable, scalable, and increasingly necessary. The award programme creates a platform for MSMEs to showcase their environmental leadership, allowing others across the business landscape to learn from and replicate their best practices.
The 2026 edition features six new distinct award categories, each designed to recognise diverse contributions to Malta's sustainable future:
• Sustainable Product Award: For manufacturers and designers of eco-friendly products made in Malta, spanning fashion, household goods, beauty, and wellness sectors.
• Green Entrepreneur Award: Recognises founders of innovative ventures addressing environmental challenges across any sector, from technology and energy to agriculture and services.
• Sustainability Impact Award: Honours educational institutions, non-profit organisations, trainers, and advocacy groups driving awareness and behaviour change in environmental sustainability.
• Best Green Startup Award: Acknowledges startups (1–50 employees) demonstrating excellence in integrating sustainability across operations, products, and organisational culture.
• Best Green Enterprise Award: Recognises larger enterprises (51+ employees) leading sustainability integration across supply chains, operations, and workforce practices.
• Judge's Choice Award: Selected by the judging panel, this award recognises the most outstanding entry across all categories. Finalists from the five primary awards are eligible.

Three finalists from each category will present at the Awards Ceremony on 19 November 2026 at The Notch in San Ġwann, where entries will be evaluated by a distinguished panel of industry experts:
• Matthew Swain, Head of Sustainability, APS Bank plc
• Anamaria Magri Pantea, Advisor, Ascend Consulting
• Marc Berghoff, Executive Coach, Vistage Malta
• Prof Leonie Baldacchino - Associate Professor University of Malta
• Gabby Grech Larsson - Sustainable Business Strategy, MSc Green Economy
Applications are entirely free to submit. The submission deadline is 13 July 2026.
Sustainability is not a passing trend; it is the future foundation of all viable businesses. The GreenBiz Awards mission is to bring these trailblazing enterprises greater visibility, enabling them to grow, attract investment, and continue advancing their green practices with renewed momentum and industry recognition.
The GreenBiz Awards is sponsored by APS Bank Ltd, Visit Malta, Eden Foundation, Working Town, Greenie.mt and Ewropa Kreattiva.
