Big changes are on the menu for lovers of Indian cuisine in Malta! The beloved Qawra restaurant Garam Masalaa, which served authentic, unforgettable dishes for nearly two decades, is making a flavoursome comeback, under a fresh new name and location.

This exciting news comes almost a year after the bittersweet closure of Garam Masalaa. Back in 2024, original owners Sunil and Katherine Khosla announced their retirement after 20 years, with the restaurant’s final day of service taking place on 30th June 2024. Their heartfelt farewell left a lasting impression on loyal patrons who had come to love their warm hospitality and iconic flavours.

Now, the torch is being carried forward by the next generation. Nowell and Carole Khosla, Sunil and Katherine’s son and daughter-in-law, are honouring that legacy by launching Garam Tikka Masala – a new venture that will be bringing a modern spirit to the cherished traditional establishment.

At Garam Tikka Masala, you’ll still find the classic dishes you remember and crave, but with fresh additions, exciting new creations, and a revamped spice meter for those who love the taste but not the heat.

Perhaps the most exciting part of this revival is its location – the historic and picturesque Birgu Waterfront. Patrons can now look forward to beautiful views and the sea breeze alongside the new tastes. Garam Tikka Masala opened its doors just last week, so it’s a great time to visit and check out the fresh new vibe.
