The new Fernandõ will be located on the 13th floor of the upcoming high-end Gia Hotel
Michelin star restaurant Fernandõ Gastrotheque is set to move from its current location to the 13th floor of a new Sliema hotel, GuideMeMalta can reveal.
The new Fernandõ will be located on the 13th floor of the upcoming high-end Gia Hotel in Triq Zimmermann Barbaro, offering guests panoramic views of Sliema and Valletta.
While no official opening date has been set yet, the launch should take place sometime over the coming weeks. The current Fernandõ’s last day of operation will be on 3rd October.

It marks a new chapter for a restaurant that initially opened in 2018 as a wine and tapas bar before acquiring the services of Chef Laszlo Sragli and transitioning towards fine dining.
The restaurant received its first Michelin Plate in 2021 and its first Michelin star in 2023.
However, Fernandõ Co-Founder Nicholai Grech told GuideMeMalta that the restaurant’s small kitchen had become increasingly limiting over time.
“It was like a plant outgrowing its pot,” he explained, adding that the new kitchen area is the same size as the entire ground floor of the current restaurant.
Despite the larger speech, Fernandõ won’t add too many seats, with capacity set to remain at around 30 covers.
Meanwhile, Fernandõ will open another two outlets at the Gia Hotel – a bistro called Ferro and a cafeteria called Cafe Gigi.
