In the wake of Jonathan Chetcuti’s death, heartfelt messages have been pouring on social media. Jonathan was a former Malta national volleyball player and the tech and design expert behind Concept Stadium.

A number of locals have shared beautiful words, remembering their friend as resilient, happy and unique guy. “The last months were very tough on you – I will never forget it when on the 23rd of September you showed up worried at the office. Later that week you were diagnosed with what was going the biggest and longest match of your lifetime,” says Jonathan Dalli, his business partner.

“Your last message to me was “Just wanted to tell you again how much you mean to me and that I will be supporting you from the VIP stands high above”,” Dalli shares. “Today I’m changing your designation mate.... from Founder to Guardian Angel.”

Former minister George Pullicino also shared a message about Jonathan. “My friend Jonathan is now resting in peace, finally free from pain. I still cannot believe it. Watch over Elaine, Gigi and all your family. Un forte abraccio !”

Writer and close friend Alison Bezzina shares what a stand-up guy Jonathan truly was. “It is hard to see the silver lining when you lose someone like Jonathan, and it is hard to understand why someone so good would be taken so young, but if he was still here, I know he’d say something corny to make me cringe with laughter and accept the things I cannot change with humour. So I now choose to feel grateful for having known such a great man with such a character.”

“It’s difficult to say goodbye to you in the proper way because of the extraordinary situation we live in... maybe from the one hand this is how it should be because your life hasn’t come to an end today,” says friend Jesmond Saliba. “Your life lives on in the hearts and minds of all those who had the blessing of being in yours.”
