The heat returns! Malta & Gozo brace for humid mid-July weather
Sunblock and granitas at the ready!

After a short-lived break from the scorching heat last week, Malta and Gozo are heading back into full summer mode this week, with rising temperatures and sticky humidity levels making their return.

While actual air temperatures are forecast to peak at 35°C on Sunday 20th July, it’s the real feel temperatures that will have most of us searching for shade and an extra granita. Due to increased humidity, it’s expected to feel as hot as 40°C at times over the weekend.

Evenings will offer only slight relief, with real feel temperatures hovering around 26°C on Thursday night – a noticeably warmer shift compared to the cooler nights we had just last week.

But it’s not all swelter and sweat – north westerly winds reaching Force 5 are forecast for Thursday, which should bring some much-needed breeze across the islands. These winds are also expected to carry in some cloud cover between Thursday and Saturday, though any chance of rain remains low, with a maximum likelihood of 25% on Friday.

So whether you’re planning a beach day or just trying to get through the day without sticking to your sofa, make sure to stay hydrated, seek shade, and don’t forget the sunblock!

Any plans to make the most of the summer heat this week?
