The gorgeous Gnien l-Gharusa in Mosta has been revamped, following works amounting to more than €500,000 to regenerate the garden after it was left to deteriorate for many years.

This gem in the outskirts of Mosta boasts breath-taking views of Burmarrad and the surrounding areas, and was quite the romantic spot back in the day, having roots of romance named after the popular Maltese legend.

Now, more than 2,200 trees and shrubs have been planted in the garden, golden paving has been laid, and the benches, gazebos, paths and passageways were restored, and safety features installed.

I couldn’t resist popping over to take a peek at the new garden myself, and I must say, it’s pretty stunning. The peaceful garden could now become a place for visitors to rest and take a breather (just as I did for a few minutes while I was there) or head over for a romantic sunset picnic, like many would back in the day.

What do you think of the garden’s facelift?
