The first of 7 Marsa flyovers will be open sooner than you think!
Already?!

As you’ve probably noticed while driving through Marsa, a whole network of flyovers is currently being built, and will be open for use sooner that we thought! The first two flyovers of the entire Marsa junction project will reportedly be opened this weekend.

The interconnecting structures extend a half kilometre link between Marsa and Luqa, replacing the current route next to the Addolorata Cemetery. The new two-lane connection will allow drivers coming from Aldo Moro Road to access Giuseppe Garibaldi Road until the third and fourth flyovers are completed early next year.

The opening of the flyovers will allow Infrastructure Malta to close the route from the Addolorata Cemetery to the airport, freeing up space to complete the rest of the junction.

Other flyovers will create easy access to various routes between the bustling Aldo Moro area and other roads, including Sir Paul Boffa Avenue (towards Corradino and Paola), Santa Lucija Avenue (Addolorata Hill) and Marsa Road (towards Qormi).

By the time the project is complete, there will be seven new flyovers that will provide uninterrupted connections stretching over 12 kilometres.
