Take note! Red flag warning issued for Golden Bay and Għajn Tuffieħa due to windy conditions
These warnings are due to today’s strong winds!

The Malta Red Cross has issued a red flag warning for two of the island’s most popular beaches - Golden Bay and Għajn Tuffieħa, due to hazardous sea conditions caused by today’s strong winds.

A red flag indicates a high hazard, meaning that swimming is strictly not advised due to strong currents and rough waves.

These flags are not just suggestions, but they signal real danger, and beachgoers are strongly urged to respect them, especially under today’s weather conditions.

Today’s gusty winds have made sea conditions particularly unpredictable, increasing the risk of strong rip currents that can easily overpower even experienced swimmers.

The Malta Red Cross continuously monitors beach safety conditions and updates flag warnings in real time. Beachgoers are encouraged to check local updates before heading to the shore and to always follow lifeguard instructions.
