KM Malta Airlines has revealed plans to introduce a new direct air route connecting Malta with Palermo as part of its Summer 2026 flight schedule. The service is set to begin on 30th May 2026 and will operate three times a week, with flights scheduled for Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays.

The new route is expected to make travelling to the Sicilian capital more convenient for Maltese passengers. Palermo is well known for its vibrant markets, historic streets and famous street food culture, making it a popular destination for visitors exploring the island.

From Palermo, travellers can also easily reach nearby attractions including Mondello, Cefalù, Segesta and Erice.

According to the airline, tickets are already available and can be booked through its official website or mobile app.

The addition of this route further strengthens travel links between Malta and Sicily, a favourite destination for Maltese travellers looking for quick getaways, cultural trips and seaside escapes.

Will you be travelling to Palermo this year?
