Summer arrives early! First weekend of May to bring 29°C heat to Malta & Gozo
Time to get your swimwear out!

As April wraps up, Malta is preparing to bid farewell with some unstable weather, but don’t worry – May will be kicking off with a sun-soaked and warm start!

April will close on a more unsettled note, with cloudy skies and a chance of isolated thundery showers, particularly later today (Monday 28th April) and early on Tuesday 29th April.

As the calendar flips to May, though, a high-pressure system will settle over the central Mediterranean, bringing clear skies, light winds, and temperatures that will make you feel like summer is already here. Expect temperatures over 25°C (with some days possibly reaching 30°C), making for ideal weather to get outdoors and soak up the sunshine.

The first weekend of May will be especially balmy with light winds, perfect for your first dip in the sea or some sea travel across the islands.

With the sun shining bright, don’t forget your sunscreen! The UV Index is already at a ‘Very High’ level of 8, so make sure to slather on plenty of sunblock before heading out.

Looking forward to a summer preview?
