‘Maltese Islands Weather’ has taken to their social media to issue a strong wind warning that is valid for early tonight, Friday 12th May and all day on Saturday 13th May.

The Southeast to East Southeast wind will not be constantly very strong but will come in episodes of very strong gusts”, the page wrote.

The strongest gusts might reach Force eight at times with the strongest winds expected on Saturday morning.

The sea is predicted to be quite rough especially alongside the parts of the coasts highlighted in red on the above map.

Therefore, it’s highly advisable to avoid swimming or any kind of water-based activities nearby these locations.

By Sunday, 14th May, the wind is expected to subside just in time for Mother’s Day but will unfortunately become strong again on Monday, 15th May.
