Strong start for Team Malta! Nathan Mifsud lifts to 6th place finish at European Youth & U15 Championships

Team Malta has kicked off the European Youth & U15 Weightlifting Championships with a promising performance, as Nathan Mifsud delivered a standout result in the U15 -56kg category final.

Facing off against 15 of Europe’s top young lifters, Nathan showed remarkable strength, focus, and composure. He placed first in his group and achieved a 6th place overall finish; a significant milestone for the rising Maltese athlete.

Nathan Mifsud’s final results include a snatch at 84kg, placing 5th, 6th place at Clean & Jerk at 104kg. Nathan’s total amounted to 188kg and placed 6th overall.

His performance saw him finish ahead of competitors from weightlifting giants like Bulgaria, Romania, Poland, and Spain, making this a notable achievement not just for the Maltese athlete personally, but for Malta’s weightlifting community as a whole.

The competition continues tomorrow, with Kim Camilleri Lagana set to compete at 12pm Malta time. With momentum on their side, Team Malta is eager to build on this strong start and continue turning heads across Europe.
