Stormy days ahead! Thunderstorms to hit Malta this weekend with rain expected until Feast of Saint Joseph
Looking like some wet days lie ahead!

If you were hoping the end of calendar winter would bring bright skies and spring sunshine, you might be in for a bit of disappointment.

While today’s weather appears relatively sunny, forecasts show conditions turning cloudier and more unsettled from Saturday, with intermittent rain and possible thunderstorms expected across the islands throughout the weekend.

Saturday 14th March is forecast to bring between 1mm and 6mm of rainfall, with showers becoming heavier on Sunday, when totals could rise to 2mm–9mm. The wettest day is currently expected to be Monday, with forecasts predicting 3mm–12mm of rain.

Alongside the rain, temperatures are expected to dip noticeably. The real-feel temperature could fall to around 6°C during Sunday and Monday night, bringing a chilly end to the weekend.

Showery weather is expected to continue into Tuesday, with isolated rainfall likely throughout the day – something to keep in mind if you’re planning to celebrate Saint Patrick's Day!

There could be a short break from the clouds on Wednesday 18th March, with some sunshine expected to return. It won’t be completely calm, though, as Force 6 winds are also forecast, which could make outdoor plans a little breezy.

Unfortunately, the clearer weather might not last long. Rain is expected to return on Thursday 19th March, the public holiday marking the Feast of Saint Joseph.

So if you’re looking to soak up some sunshine, Wednesday might be your best (or only) chance.

Any outdoor weekend plans you might need to rethink?
