Start the weekend off with a dip! Here’s a list of recommended bays across the Maltese Islands for today
There can be no doubt that summer is well and truly with us now – both on the calendar and the thermometer! So even those who so far have been avoiding the beaches for fear of cold sea temperatures, are now more than safe to venture out as the sea surface temperature has already reached 24 °C.
Due to the current north-westerly wind, most beaches in the southeast of Malta have been marked as safe for swimming. Here are some recommendations for Maltese beaches, as suggested by the Maltese Islands Weather page this morning: Mellieħa, Imġiebaħ, Mistra Bay, St. Paul's Bay, Qawra, Baħar iċ-Ċagħaq, St. George's Bay, Sliema, Rinella Bay, Marsaskala, St. Thomas Bay, Ħofriet, Marsaxlokk, Pretty Bay, Wied iż-Żurrieq and Għar Lapsi.
Beaches to avoid in Malta today are Marfa, Ramla l-Bir, Little Armier, Armier Bay, Fomm ir-Riħ, Ġnejna Bay, Għajn Tuffieħa, Golden Bay, Anchor Bay and Paradise Bay.
All beaches in Gozo are currently marked as safe for swimming, aside from Dwejra.
