Singing starlet Gaia Gambuzza has been crowned the winner of this year’s edition of the Malta Junior Eurovision Song Contest.

Gaia took home the prestigious title with her song ‘Diamonds in the Skies’, written by leading local singer-songwriter Matthew James Borg.

The contest’s finals took place yesterday, 2nd October at the Rediffusion House in Gwardamangia, with 16 young singers fighting for the title.

Andrea Camilleri came in second place with her song ‘Spark’, whilst Emma Kate Formosa came in third place with ‘Bounce’.

The rest of the rankings have not been published yet.

The competition’s winner was selected by the votes of a jury panel – made up of Mary Rose Mallia, Debbie Scerri, Ludwig Galea, and Roderick Azzopardi Custo – and public televoting.

Following her success at yesterday’s competition, Gaia will be representing Malta at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in Yerevan, Armenia on 11th December 2022.
