Big dreams can take flight!

In a proud moment for Malta’s scientific and academic community, Merill 1, the first-ever student-built rocket on the island, was officially revealed yesterday at Villa Bighi.

Developed by a passionate team of Maltese students, this groundbreaking project is set to represent Malta in the European Rocketry Challenge, marking the nation's debut in such a prestigious aerospace competition.

‘Merill 1’ is a bold statement; a statement that innovation knows no borders, and that even from a small Mediterranean island, big dreams can take flight.

The project is a shining example of what can be achieved through determination, collaboration, and vision. Built with technical precision and a whole lot of heart, the rocket reflects the students’ drive to break new ground and push the boundaries of what’s possible in Malta’s growing STEM landscape.

‘Merill 1’ is proof that with passion and teamwork, even the sky is not the limit!

Well done to all those involved!
