Second year running! Maltese Chef Letizia Vella honoured at prestigious International Best Chef Awards
Maltese chef Letizia Vella has once again made Malta proud on the international culinary stage, bringing home the Knife Award for Excellence in Cuisine at the prestigious Best Chef Awards in Milan.
Sharing the exciting news on social media, Chef Letizia wrote: ‘Honoured to be at the Best Chef Awards once again. For the second consecutive year, we’ve brought home the Knife for excellence in our cuisine. Grateful for the recognition – and even more grateful for the incredible team behind it all.’
The Best Chef Awards are considered among the most respected accolades in the culinary world, spotlighting extraordinary talent and innovation from across six continents. In 2024, the awards moved away from traditional rankings, instead adopting a tiered Knife recognition system that highlights chefs’ impact, creativity, and contributions to the global dining scene.
This year’s edition saw a record 972 voters, including 572 chefs from 64 countries and 400 industry professionals. Chef Letizia earned one knife, a recognition for chefs who achieve 20% or more, placing her among 421 culinary leaders worldwide who continue to shape the future of gastronomy.
Her win not only underscores her dedication and mastery in the kitchen, but also cements her reputation as one of Malta’s most exceptional culinary ambassadors.
Well done Chef Letizia!
