Heritage Malta is offering a unique opportunity to explore the rich naval history of Fort St Angelo with a special guided tour on Sunday, 8th December. This exclusive tour takes visitors back to a pivotal era when the fort served as a crucial base for the Royal Navy from 1906 to 1979.

During this time, the fort was renamed HMS Egmont in 1912 and later HMS St Angelo in 1933. It became home to hundreds of Maltese sailors, who lived and worked within its walls, witnessing significant transformations over the decades.

The tour, which runs from 9:30 am to 11:00 am, will guide participants through the fort’s storied past, highlighting the naval establishment’s role in Malta’s military history.

As you walk through Fort St Angelo, the tour will share fascinating stories about daily life and the various administrative duties carried out within the fort. Visitors will also gain insights into the broader historical context of Malta's strategic importance during the 20th century.

The event is open to all ages, though due to the fort's historic architecture, please note that there are stairs and ramps along the route, and Upper Fort St Angelo is not wheelchair accessible. Flat shoes are recommended to ensure comfort during the tour.

Tickets for this unique journey are priced at €12 for adults, €10 for seniors and students, and €8 for Heritage Malta members. Tickets can be purchased at any Heritage Malta museum or online. Limited spots are available to ensure an intimate and memorable experience for all participants.
