Malta has just lost a frontrunner of its medical sphere…
Dozens took to social media today to mourn the loss of Albert Fenech – one of Malta’s best Cardiologists and a former Member of Parliament.
The 70-year-old doctor is believed to have died of natural causes at his home.
Profs. Fenech is best-known for having co-founded the cardiology department in Malta’s healthcare system back in 1995.
He is also credited with executing the first operation at Mater Dei Hospital back in 2007.
“I’m shocked to hear about the loss of Professor Albert Fenech, the cardiologist that served as a Nationalist Member of Parliament,” MEP David Casa wrote on social media.
“He was a doctor with great abilities, especially with his patients in the cardiology department. We salute you, Robert,” he continued.
Hundreds took to the post’s comments section to pay tribute to the late doctor.
“Heart patients found great solace in Professor Fenech. May the loving Lord reward his dedication and care,” wrote on commenter.
“I would like to say thank you, as a couple of years ago he gave my dad more years to live. Such sad news,” added another.
Rest in peace, Professor Fenech!
