Reduce, reuse, recycle! Record 19,000,000kg of recyclable material collected in Malta in 2021
A step towards a circular economy for Malta.

Environment Minister Aaron Farrugia has just confirmed that around 19,000,000kg of recycled material was collected, processed and reused by WasteServ Malta this year.

This is definitely a step up compared to the one per cent of plastic that was recycled back in 2019.

Whilst this is a great feat for Malta, it’s still a fraction of the 330,000,000kg of waste generated by the country every year

Minister Farrugia proudly took to social media to inform his followers of this great achievement.

“19,000 Tonnes of recycled material – more than the projected amount for this year,” he wrote.

The Minister went on to thank the busy workers and managers at WasteServ who work towards the common goal of bettering the country’s waste management policies.

If you need more information on how, what and why to recycle, WasteServ has made this information easily accessible for all.
