Zabbar has officially entered the record books with a its colourful display of 435 umbrellas suspended above one of its streets, earning recognition from The Malta Records for the largest number of umbrellas hung outdoors in a single location.

The record-breaking installation is part of the Zabbar Street Festival, organised by Ghaqda Madonna tal-Grazzja Banda San Mikiel AD 1883.

The dazzling canopy of umbrellas has transformed the street into a colourful attraction, capturing the attention of locals and tourists alike.

Originally introduced in 2018 by then-mayor Marc Vella Bonnici, the umbrella initiative quickly became a well-loved and sought-after local tradition. After a short pause, the band club revived the event this year, continuing the legacy with even greater impact.

Congratulations to all who made this achievement possible!
